Allagash Headwaters update: 3 below zero this morning with 20 below windchill. 5 inches of snow on the ground with very limited snowmobiling. With that said, access to Big Eagle in Woodman cove and Locke Dam gate on Chamberlain is good. Either by snowmobile or 4wd vehicle. Big Eagle conditions are pretty good. Ice thickness is 12 inches of clear ice from Woodman cove to Pillsbury Island. There is a pressure ridge just North of Pillsbury island on the east shore. First snowmobile tracks at the trains today. Will update on Chamberlain ice conditions tomorrow.
No the snowmobile conditions are not great but the ice fishing conditions are. We have rooms available this week and the dining room is open. Drive to the access points or ride from our parking lot.
